After a five-year hiatus, Fox is once again back in the studio to launch its newest and biggest new franchise, the X-files.
The network has confirmed a new film will premiere on October 17, 2018, but no release date.
In addition, the new film is titled X-23: Renegades, and stars Kurt Russell as a man with a rare mutation of a brain disorder who uses his newfound abilities to help the people of Los Angeles.
The new film follows a young man (Russell) who is diagnosed with an extreme form of the disease, which he is determined to cure.
The X-Men spinoff franchise will be the next to be revived.
It is currently in production, and a premiere date is expected at some point this fall.
The film will follow an alien virus that has taken over the world, but it is not the only new franchise Fox is launching.
It also is developing the spinoff series Star Wars: Rebels, which will follow Luke Skywalker and his team as they face off against the dark side of the Force.
It will be released in 2019, with an anticipated May 2019 premiere.
