NEW YORK — New York Times Best Seller Thomas Friedman is set to unveil his new book, “The Truth About Everything,” on Thursday, and it’s an unlikely book for anyone to read.
“It’s a book that is a collection of facts and figures that are not entirely factual, but it is true,” Friedman said.
Friedman, whose new book is set for release on Thursday as a stand-alone book, said the book will not be a guide to success, but rather a “guide to living.”
“I have not been able to understand why people don’t like reading books that are written by people who are successful,” he said.
“This book is a story about how to live your life.
It is about how you get where you want to be, how to work your way to success.”
Friedmann, who is the author of the bestselling memoir, “No Logo,” about his rise to fame and his wife, Tamara, a bestselling author and former New York Times columnist, said he had no idea how many people would be interested in reading it.
He said he’s “not a journalist” and is just trying to tell his story.
“I’ve been telling my story for five years now.
This is my story,” Friedman told reporters at his home in Westchester, N.Y., before heading to the Times Bookstore.”
It’s my life, and I’m trying to do my best to tell my story.
I’m not going to be telling a perfect story.
That’s not what I’m here for,” Friedman added.
The New York Post first reported the book was due out on Thursday.
Friedman said he planned to hold a book launch event for the book at the Times store in mid-September.
“The truth is, there are a lot of people who don’t get to hear my story because I’m too busy, too busy working my way up,” Friedman wrote in a blog post published on Tuesday.
“But I’m telling it for my own benefit, and if it helps others to understand my life better, that’s the kind of thing that’s worth sharing,” he wrote.
Fisher said he expects the book to sell around 1 million copies, and the book is due to be published on Sept. 16.
