The first venture company in the country will be Brocktons first venture fund, an announcement that has the company at its first major event in its history.
The firm will launch its Brockons first venture venture capital fund in 2021, an event that is expected to draw some of the biggest names in tech, including Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Brad Smith.
Brockton is the first new venture firm to join the Microsoft Venture Accelerator program since it was created in 2017, according to a statement from Brock’s founder and CEO John Brokman.
“We are thrilled to be joining the Microsoft Accelerator Program, which is focused on accelerating companies that deliver transformative new products and services,” Brok said in the statement.
“Our mission is to build an industry-leading, globally-recognized venture capital program focused on providing capital to entrepreneurs and start-ups who are creating new and innovative businesses and services.”
The firm has raised more than $5 million in investments.
Microsoft Venture Fund, which launched in 2017 and has attracted some of Silicon Valley’s most famous venture capitalists, aims to invest $1 billion in companies that have at least 10 employees and are “in-demand.”
Microsoft Venture Fund also announced that it is planning a series of events in New York City to showcase the success of the company’s new venture fund.
The Microsoft Venture Ventures Program is open to any company with a proven track record of growth, and has grown to include companies in more than 100 countries.
Brokmans announcement follows the launch of Microsoft’s first venture firm, Microsoft Ventures, a new venture investment fund with a focus on high-growth startups and emerging technology companies.
Microsoft Ventures raised $1.5 billion in venture funding in 2018, according the VentureBeat blog.
Microsoft Venture Ventures has also announced it is partnering with tech giant Facebook to develop its first app, and with social media company Instagram to help build its first photo sharing app.
